As part of our exciting Careers Week activities, we have organised a special trip for the children to Pizza Express, where they will get a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to work in the food industry — and even get hands-on making their own pizzas!

Trip Details:

• Date: Owls 6th November & Rabbits 13th November
• Location: Pizza Express
• Cost: £7.90 per child
• Travel: Children will walk to and from the venue, accompanied by staff.

Children should arrive at school at normal time and wear school uniform.  They will be back in time for lunch.

This is a fantastic opportunity for children to explore careers in hospitality and food service in a fun and interactive way.

As you may already know,  one of the Year 2 classes won a competition run by Shropshire Wildlife Trust to come up with a female and male beaver name (the winning names were Beryl and Bertie). The competition was to raise awareness of a project the SWT are doing, in partnership with Shropshire Council, to introduce a family of Eurasian beavers to the Old River Bed wetlands area, Shrewsbury – an area designated of Special Scientific Interest – as a way of managing the wetland area. The prize for winning the competition was a trip for the whole year group to the Old River Bed site. Whilst there they will take part in a SWT workshop  to learn more about the beavers and their habitat and to (hopefully) see the beavers in situ. The trip will take place on Thursday 26^th June. The children will leave school shortly after morning register, travelling by coach to the Old River Bed site. They will return to school around noon, in time for the start of the school lunch break so no special arrangements are needed for lunch.

Although the SWT workshop is free, transport to and from the venue is not. As such, we ask that parents contribute towards this cost, of £3.80 per child. Payment should be made via your child’s Arbor account prior to the date of the trip please.

Our annual Music Showcase Concert will be on Wednesday 18th June at 6.00pm in the school hall.

The concert is open to all pupils who have instrumental lessons in and outside of school, from Year 2 upwards. It’s free to attend and is always a lovely opportunity to perform to a friendly and supportive audience.

Thank you for your patience whilst we have been trying to reschedule the trip to Leicester which should have taken place in September.  Unfortunately, it has not been possible to schedule a time when both the Van Gogh Immersive Exhibition and The Central Mosque in Leicester are able to host us, so we have made the decision to change our trip plans.   Please see details below with regards to our revised trip.
