A group of Year 6 students were selected to take part in an indoor cricket event as part of the School Games competition. They performed incredibly throughout the day, winning all of their group-stage matches and securing a place in the semifinals. Although they played brilliantly, they narrowly missed out on a spot in the final by just a few runs.

In the playoff for 3rd and 4th place, they once again showed great determination, losing by only two runs. Despite these close results, the team finished the event feeling very happy with their 4th-place position – and rightly so!

There were countless fantastic catches, powerful hits, and moments of excellent teamwork. The whole team should be extremely proud of placing 4th in a tournament that involved 12 schools.

This group of netballers showcased yet another fantastic tournament performance, winning all three of their matches with confidence and teamwork. It was a brilliant display of skill, determination and sportsmanship, and a wonderful representation of Coleham. Well done, girls, you should be incredibly proud!

As part of our group stage in the U11 County Plate, we played an exciting match against Trinity. What a brilliant game of football! A fantastic effort from every child – some superb football on display and excellent teamwork throughout. We held a 1–0 lead for the majority of the match but, despite a strong performance, the game finished as a 1–1 draw. Well done to everyone for their commitment, sportsmanship and determination; we are proud of how the team played today!

A year 1 and 2 football team proudly represented Coleham in a friendly football match against Bowbrook Primary School. The fixture provided a fantastic opportunity for some children who have shown an interest in football to take part in a competitive game, while others enjoyed the chance to showcase their developing skills.

The Year 1 team played brilliantly, showing determination and putting Bowbrook under pressure throughout the match. Although they didn’t win this time, they should be incredibly proud of their teamwork and effort.

The Year 2 team had an exciting match and did fantastically well, securing a 5 – 4 win with some excellent goals and great teamwork.

A massive well done to all the children who took part, you represented Coleham brilliantly! A big thank you to Bowbrook Primary School for joining us for this friendly match.

This group of boys headed to Shrewsbury Town Football Club to participate in the U11 EFL Football Cup tournament. They played some fantastic football, demonstrating excellent skill and working brilliantly together as a team.

The team finished 2nd in their group, earning a place in the semi-final, where they narrowly missed out on a win.

Well done to all the players for a superb afternoon of football; some real footballers in the making!

24 pupils from Year 3 to Year 6 proudly represented Coleham Primary School at a cross country event hosted by Embrace. The event was scored by converting each runner’s finishing position into points; the lower the total score, the better the team result.

Our pupils gave absolutely outstanding performances. Thanks to their determination, teamwork and incredible effort, the team brought home the overall winners’ trophy!

Not only did our runners showcase fantastic athletic ability, they also demonstrated kindness and sportsmanship throughout the event, cheering on competitors from every school.

A special mention goes to our Year 5/6 girls’ team, who achieved an incredible result securing places from 1st to 6th!

We are so proud of every single pupil who took part. Well done, Team Coleham!

Ten students took part in a hockey tournament run by the Sports Leaders at Meole Brace. Both teams performed brilliantly, making it into the knockout stages, one in the Cup after winning their group, and the other in the Plate after placing second.

The Cup knockout was a closely fought semi-final, with Harlescott narrowly missing out after the opposition scored in the final five seconds. The Plate team also played exceptionally well, progressing all the way to the final against Greenfields before just missing out on the win.

With only one of the ten students playing hockey for a club outside of school, the level of skill, teamwork, and determination on display was outstanding. Every player should be incredibly proud of their performance and many have now been encouraged to pick up a stick and give hockey a go!

What an incredible performance from our group of U11 netballers at Shrewsbury Sports Village! The team played three superb matches and won every single one, showing exceptional teamwork, focus and determination from start to finish.

Their energy on court was inspiring, with impressive passing, quick reactions and some outstanding shooting that saw them achieve high scores in every game.

It was a real pleasure to watch such confident, skilful and passionate netball. A huge well done to all the girls — an amazing achievement and one to be very proud of!

A big thank you to Ben Smith from Chance to Shine Cricket for delivering a brilliant six-week block of cricket! The children have loved learning and developing their bowling, catching, fielding, and batting skills, and we finished the block with exciting mini games. It’s been fantastic to see the progress made by our Year 1 and Year 4 pupils over the six weeks – thank you for inspiring such enthusiasm and teamwork!

Well done to our group of U11 boys who came together to represent the school at a fantastic football tournament held at Shrewsbury Sports Village. The team showed brilliant determination, drawing one match, losing one, and winning two, which meant they finished top of their group overall.

They then faced Greenfields in the semi-final and, despite a strong performance, narrowly missed out on a place in the final. The boys demonstrated superb skill, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the evening.

We took a mixed group of Year 4 children to a football tournament at Wilfred Owen Primary School, and what a fantastic afternoon it was! The team played brilliantly, showing great teamwork, determination, and resilience throughout their matches, and they were rewarded with an impressive 3rd place finish. Beyond the results, it was wonderful to see the children smiling, laughing, and supporting each other at every stage. They were also extremely respectful to the other schools and adults at the tournament, perfectly showcasing the Coleham values both on and off the pitch. A huge well done and thank you to all who took part – you made us very proud!

We have had our first sports fixture of this academic year! A football team made up of U11 boys took on Greenfields here at school. The match was full of energy, skill, and determination, with every player giving their all from start to finish. Although the final score was 3-0 to Greenfields, the boys played brilliantly together, showed great teamwork, and represented the school with pride. Their positive attitude and high spirits throughout the game were a real credit to them – a fantastic way to begin our sporting calendar!

Dolphins had a brilliant afternoon over at Town Walls, taking part in a tennis taster session. The children were incredibly respectful towards the coaches and approached the session with great enthusiasm. They showed some fantastic tennis skills and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Miss Lewis cannot put into words how incredibly proud she is of every single one of our children who took part in the Area Athletics 2025 event. You all represented Coleham with such pride, determination, and spirit — it was an absolute joy to watch.

From the very first race to the final event, there was an overwhelming sense of teamwork, competitiveness, and pure passion for athletics. The effort, energy, and enthusiasm each of you showed were simply outstanding. It was inspiring to see such fantastic athletic ability on display, but even more so to witness the way you supported and encouraged one another throughout.

We always knew you would do brilliantly, but to be crowned overall champions is an incredible achievement — something each and every one of you should be so proud of. Regardless of the position you finished in, this was a true team effort, and the win belongs to you all.

Keep pushing yourselves, keep believing in your potential, and you’ll continue to achieve amazing things.

Well done to this fantastic group of children who represented Coleham at the rounders competition held at Mary Webb Secondary School. They demonstrated excellent resilience and teamwork throughout the event, with some brilliant batting and fielding on display. A special well done to the five children who kindly joined with pupils from Harlescott School to form a second team — your flexibility and sportsmanship were outstanding.

This afternoon, a group of our Year 1 children took to the school field for a friendly football match against Bowbrook. What a fantastic way to round off the week!

The children were an absolute credit to Coleham, demonstrating our school values beautifully throughout. They worked brilliantly as a team, played with enthusiasm, and showcased some fantastic football skills.

To round off a fantastic year of school football, we arranged a couple of friendly matches with Crowmoor Primary School – an exciting opportunity to strengthen community links and give our children the chance to enjoy sport in a supportive environment. The boys showed great effort, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout. A big well done to them, and a heartfelt thank you to Crowmoor for hosting us! 

This fantastic group of girls qualified for the School Games Indoor Athletics competition by coming first against schools in Shrewsbury! They then went on to proudly represent Shrewsbury in the County Finals, where they achieved an impressive third place overall.

What an incredible display of dedication, team effort, and passion. Well done, girls – a super performance all round! Keep up the amazing work! 💪🌟

A group of Coleham pupils represented the school at the Embrace Cricket Competition and came away as champions after an exciting day of matches. After a dramatic win in the first game and a narrow loss to St Giles in the second, the team bounced back to win their final group match, setting up a rematch against St Giles in the final.

Coleham fielded first and held their opponents to 71 runs. A strong batting performance saw them needing 10 runs from the last 10 balls, and with just two deliveries remaining, they secured victory by a single run.

The team demonstrated excellent teamwork, sportsmanship, and resilience throughout the tournament, showing true Coleham spirit. A fantastic achievement — well done to all involved!

We couldn’t be prouder of some of our incredible U9 boys for being crowned Shropshire County Football Champions! The boys showed outstanding team spirit, worked brilliantly together, and played some fantastic football throughout the competition.

After a win against Gobowen in the semi-finals, the team went on to represent Coleham in the county finals at Shifnal Town Football Club on Saturday. Despite going 1–0 down, their determination never wavered. A well-deserved equaliser just 20 seconds before half-time sparked a second-half comeback, with the boys finishing strong to win 4–1!

An amazing achievement and a true display of teamwork, resilience, and passion. Every single player should feel incredibly proud – well done, boys!

We’d also like to say a big thank you to Mr Peters, who kindly volunteered his time to support coaching the team alongside Miss Lewis. Your help has been greatly appreciated.

A huge well done to our incredible team of runners who took part in the recent Quarry Run Cross Country Competition. It was a real pleasure to run alongside the beautiful River Severn and through the stunning grounds of the Quarry. The children showed fantastic determination and team spirit throughout the event.

A big thank you to Shrewsbury High School for hosting such a brilliant day. We’re so proud to share that we had several 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes, with the U11 boys and U11 girls teams coming 1st overall, and the U9 boys and U9 girls finishing 2nd overall — what a fantastic achievement!

Congratulations to our amazing U9 boys footballers who have made it through to the finals of the SSCFA Tournament.

After winning their group stage, they faced Gobowen Primary School in the semi-final. Despite going 1–0 down in the first half, the boys regrouped and came back stronger than ever — scoring an incredible 5 goals in the second half to secure a 5–1 win!

A special shout-out to Bray, who scored four goals, and Jesse, who added another to the tally. What an amazing team effort — your resilience, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm were a joy to witness.

We’re now eagerly waiting to hear who we’ll face in the finals. Well done, boys — you’ve done Coleham proud! 🏆
