Coleham Voices WOW in concert!

At the end of a very long week of nativities, the school choir gave an outstanding performance at Friday evening’s concert held at St Alkmund’s Church in Shrewsbury, where they had the privilege of performing alongside the professional vocal ensemble, The Phoenix Singers. Set within the beautiful and atmospheric surroundings of the church, the evening was a beautiful celebration of music, collaboration, and confidence.

The children were expertly prepared and led by Mrs Porrett, and during the concert, the choir also benefited from the direction of The Phoenix Singers’ professional musical director, giving pupils a valuable opportunity to experience performing under expert leadership and alongside accomplished singers.

The highlight of the evening was the joint performances, where the school choir sang two stunning pieces with The Phoenix Singers: Bethlehem and Can You See What I See?. Both songs were delivered with sensitivity, clarity, and impressive musicality. The blend of youthful voices with the rich harmonies of the professional choir created a truly moving sound that was met with great applause from the full audience.

Music is so important and it’s wonderful to see these children experiencing such opportunities. They can be extremely proud of their achievements, and we are immensely proud of them too.
