Dear parents and carers,
You child is currently attending Drama Club, Choir Club or both clubs.
Flaxmill Show Evening Rehearsal
On Thursday 11th December, we will be travelling via coach at 3:45pm to Shrewsbury Flaxmill for the dress rehearsal of our production of The Flaxmill. To cover the cost of transportation, we are asking for a donation of £3.00 per child, to be paid via your child’s Arbor account. Your child is welcome to bring a snack. After the rehearsal, your child needs to be collected from Shrewsbury Flaxmill at 5:30pm.
We will be rehearsing and performing in the Dye House, an out-building with no central heating. Therefore, your child must wrap up warmly with a coat, additional layers under their clothes and with a hat and gloves.
Flaxmill Live Performance
Thursday 18th December will be our performance in the Dye House of Shrewsbury Flaxmill. Please drop off your child at 5pm, ready for the start time of 5:30pm. The show’s duration is approx. 1 hour and will finish at 6:30pm.
Tickets
Parent/Carers are invited to watch the performance. We will be performing in the historic, listed building The Dye House and The Flaxmill has restricted audience numbers for safety reasons. Therefore, we have allocated Choir Club pupils x2 tickets per child and Drama Club pupils x4 tickets per child. We are sorry about the restricted numbers but we think the unique setting and special opportunity for the children to perform on location will more than make up for this, so we ask you to support us. Also, the Coleham Choir pupils have lots of other events happening in December and opportunities for families to get involved. Please note that due to the nature of the Dye House building there is limited seating and the majority of the audience will be standing. As the building is not heated please ensure you come dressed warmly for the performance.
Siblings will be watching the show in school on Friday so we would encourage you to use your tickets for adult family members. If the ticket numbers causes you any difficulty with separated parents/families then please call the office and we will see what we can do to help.
Tickets cost £6 pp and are available to purchase via Arbor.
Refreshments and programmes will be for available for a donation while you wait. Please ensure you dress for the cold weather.
What to wear?
- Drama Club pupils should arrive wearing their costume (provided by school) and black or brown boots or school shoes (no trainers please).
- Choir Club pupils should arrive wearing their uniform and their school shoes.
- All pupils should also wear warm layers underneath and a coat to keep them warm.
We will assume that all children are able to attend the rehearsal and live performance and you or another adult will collect them from both events. IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT ABLE TO ATTEND THE REHEARSAL OR PERFORMANCE please can you email us asap helen.jasper@col.318education.co.uk
We will also perform the show for staff and pupils in school on Friday 19th December so please ensure your child (attending Drama Club) brings their costume back into school following the performance at the Flaxmill.
