After writing persuasive adverts in English to encourage others to adopt an animal, Year 4 convinced themselves! They decided to make and sell cakes and origami animals to raise money to buy capybara adoption packs at Telford Zoo and go to visit their new sponsors in person!
We had a brilliant time looking at all the animals in the zoo and taking part in a workshop, learning about why it’s important to adopt animals at home and at zoos, as well as gaining knowledge about classification, ready for our future Science topic. We met a bird (a chicken), an amphibian (a tree frog), a mammal (an armadillo), a reptile (a tortoise) and an invertebrate (a millipede)…as a fish would have been too tricky to hold!!
