Year 2 RE Visitors from Shrewsbury Muslim Centre This week, Year 2 welcomed Ian and Ashan from Shrewsbury Muslim Centre to answer some of the questions the children had about Islam. Rabbits and Owls are really enjoying learning about their current RE topic, ‘What is a Muslim and how do they live?’ Ian and Ashan talked to the children about Mecca and fasting and how Muslims pray. The children enjoyed looking at the prayer mats and traditional clothing. Ian and Ashan showed Year 2 a Qu’ran and how to be respectful when reading it. Ian and Ashan were really impressed and said they had never met a class of children who knew so much about Islam! Thank you so much for your visit!
