There will be a talk with the author for all pupils in KS2.

Next Friday – Red Nose Day Stall

For Red Nose Day this year, Josie (from Year 5), and Flora (from Year 4), are raising money by selling handmade pom-pom penguins for people to adopt.

Each little penguin comes with its own adoption certificate, and the girls hope their flock will make people smile while helping raise money for an important cause.

Cost: £1 per penguin
Limited edition: Only 100 penguins available

They will be selling their penguins after school on Friday 20 March, at a table set up outside the kitchen.

All the money raised will go to Red Nose Day, helping support children and families facing tough times in the UK and around the world.

Thank you for helping their little penguins make a big difference! 🐧❤️

Easter Disco next Tuesday

After school Disco in the hall.

Tickets can be purchased on Arbor School shop costing £5.

If your child is attending, teachers will take them to the hall after school and families should collect at 4.30pm from the front of school.

No change of clothes necessary, uniform as normal.

Reduced tickets of £1 are available for those families eligible for Free School Meal Children.

If your EYFS, Year 1 or 2 child normally attends After School Club on a Tuesday they will also have access to attend.  Parents will not need to purchase a ticket or do anything.  Miss Nash will ask the children if they would like to attend and you can pick up either at 4.30pm or from After School at normal collection times.

Radio Shropshire broadcast

Today, a group of our brilliant pupils took to the airwaves on BBC Radio Shropshire, sharing what they love about Shrewsbury as part of the town’s Culture Bid.

From the beauty of the Quarry and independent shops to the sense of community that makes Shrewsbury feel like home, our pupils spoke with pride.

Well done—you are wonderful ambassadors for the town.

Headteacher for the Day

Miss Ardill did a super job of being Headteacher for the day!

Fern won the star prize at the Family Bingo night but didn’t realise how much work she was going to have to do!

Fern came suitably dressed for her new role in School Leadership and had a gruelling schedule of meetings and other tasks.  Her favourite part was awarding the Headteacher stickers to classes.  She also had a meeting with Ms Jones, Deputy CEO of the Trust and conducted a school tour with her.

Congratulations Fern!  You’re hired!

Netball Champions

Amazing performance from this group of girls for winning the overall netball competition!

Over the course of the academic year, they have taken part in several fixtures on Thursday evenings at the Sports Village and have put in some fantastic performances. They have won all of their matches, placing them first overall.

Well deserved, girls! You have shown real skill in your netball, and it has been wonderful to see how much you have improved throughout the year. You have demonstrated great sportsmanship, determination, and teamwork every time you have stepped onto the court.

We are incredibly proud of you all – what a brilliant achievement!

Year 4 Engagement Football Event

This group of Year 4s went to Crowmoor to take part in a football engagement tournament.

Lots of fun was had while learning new football skills, representing Coleham, and working together as a team. The children showed great effort, cooperation, and resilience throughout the event.

It was fantastic to see them supporting one another and enjoying the opportunity to play football with other schools. Well done to everyone who took part!

🌟 Bingo Winners’ Afternoon Tea with the Deputy 🌟

Hugh won Afternoon Tea with the Deputy Headteacher at our Bingo night to share with 4 friends. Miss Harris spent her Sunday baking homemade scones, brownies, and flapjacks for the occasion!

The group tucked into their treats while debating the big question: jam first or cream first?

Bracelets for Cystic Fibrosis

Well done to Elinor and her Yr 5 friends for setting up a bracelet stall raising over £90 for Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Elinor’s uncle Tom has Cystic Fibrosis but thanks to a new life changing wonder drug his life has changed for the better.  He is running the London Marathon to raise money for more medical research and Eleanor was keen to join in and support and his fundraising.

Gallery Exhibition from year 4 & 5

Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic portrait painting session at Shrewsbury Museum & Gallery, creating some truly impressive artwork. Their finished portraits are now proudly displayed in our school’s Art Gallery.

Alongside them, you’ll also find Year 4’s vibrant Yayoi Kusama–inspired spotty vegetables, cleverly crafted using Modroc.

A wonderful celebration of creativity across our school!
