Headteacher Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Happy New Year! I hope you and your families enjoyed a restful, joyful Christmas break and found some time to recharge together. It has been wonderful to welcome the children back this week; despite the wintry weather, they have returned with incredible positivity, and there’s a real buzz around school. Classrooms have been full of smiles, great learning, and plenty of kindness.  Thank you for helping your children arrive ready to go.

A special thank you to Miss Harris for her early‑morning efforts with me gritting the site earlier in the week: not the start to the first Monday and Tuesday back we expected, but very useful to make sure everything was as safe as possible.  Unfortunately, we weren’t so lucky today – Miss Harris, Miss Othen and I were here from just before 6:00am this morning to assess what could be done, and I got stuck just getting into the car park!  Thank you for your understanding and patience today – I hope that everyone was able to enjoy what was left of the snow.  I managed to help build a small family of snowmen in between getting loads of jobs done!

Looking ahead to the weekend, please take extra care in the cold conditions. Paths and roads can still be slippery first thing, so do wrap up and allow a little extra time if you’re out and about. For those heading to the big FA Cup tie tomorrow, I hope all the Shrewsbury supporters enjoy the occasion and come home happy. To any Wolves fans in our community: try to enjoy the football too, but not too much.  UP THE TOWN!

Thank you, as always, for your partnership. Your encouragement at home, combined with the children’s fabulous attitude in school, sets us up brilliantly for the term ahead. If there’s anything you need, or if we can help in any way, please do get in touch with the office, your class teacher, or a member of the leadership team.

Have a great weekend
