Headteacher’s Message
Dear Parents & Carers,
This week’s school production of Peter Pan was an absolute blast! Our incredibly talented children really outdid themselves, bringing the magic of Neverland to life with so much enthusiasm. From the first scene to the final bow, they had everyone captivated. The kids worked super hard, and it showed in every moment of the performance. They should be so proud of what they achieved!
We’re so proud of all their hard work. The school production is a perfect example of how creativity, arts, and music are at the heart of what we do. These aren’t just activities; they’re essential to our school’s spirit. They give our students a chance to express themselves, develop their talents, and experience the joy of performing. I always maintain that the arts make life worth living, and this show was a fantastic reminder of that.
A huge shoutout to Mrs Stennett and her awesome team! Their hard work in directing, organising, and supporting the students made this production a huge success. Their passion for the arts and dedication to nurturing the kids’ talents were evident in every detail. The smooth transitions, stunning sets, and perfect timing were all thanks to their efforts.
And let’s not forget you: the parents and carers! Your help with learning lines, encouraging your children, and cheering them on was invaluable. Your involvement made the production possible and highlighted the importance of community and teamwork in our school.
Our creative week have also seen the Year 4 children rehearsing for a drama performance next week, and we have further bolstered our reading and writing curriculum with our excellent consultant, John Murray.
Well done to everyone!
Have a lovely weekend.

A love of language & literature
We’ve had a fantastic few days with our Reading Consultant to fine tune our Writing curriculum and Reading to focus even more on quality literature, writing with purpose and an audience to perform too. We are all feeling inspired and were able to present our monthly Picture Book Studies to Teachers, all thanks to your donations from our Amazon Wish List. Picture Book Studies will be introduced this Summer so children are immersed in a quality text and be creative with music, arts and performance to bring it to life. The books have been carefully selected to nurture the whole child with some important themes to discuss.
Veg Power film Year 2
Year 2 have been learning about healthy eating so they were chosen for a workshop this morning with Veg Power! They learnt all about the vegetables in the Eat Them to Defeat Them Campaign. The highlight was filming their own promo for the campaign using the green screen. Brilliant work Year 2!
Veg Power Campaign
We are taking part in BBC national campaign ‘Eat them to Defeat them’ to boost ‘veg power’ in pupil’s diets and encourage children to enjoy vegetables.

Year 4 Choral Day at Moreton Hall School
Year 4 enjoyed a great day at Moreton Hall School. We were invited for a special day of singing with 3 other schools and led by a professional conductor! The pupils sang beautifully and their behaviour was excellent, especially as it was a long day with some tricky music to follow. They even performed a special concert for their grow-ups. Well done, superstars! ⭐️

School Production Peter Pan!
Our 2025 School Production of Peter Pan was FANTASTIC! A massive well done to Year 5 and Year 6, our biggest cast yet of over 80 children! It’s our highlight of the school year and there are parts for everyone, dancers, actors, narrators, back stage crew and soloists. You all shone and we are so proud of you! It brought tears to our eyes to see you loving the stage and being part of something wonderful, creating something special as a team.
A massive thank you to our School Production Staff Team led by our wonderful Director Mrs Stennett who glides us all through it and makes all the hard work look effortless.
