Headteacher Message

Dear Families

We seem to be fully into the swing of the school year now and we’re still enjoying a wonderful atmosphere across school!

This week has seen safety afternoons across the school where children have learned about rail, water, home, fire safety and more! Trips and workshops are being organised!

We’ve also been in full-swing organising tomorrow’s September Social – we hope to see you there! Make sure you invite everyone you know. It’s a great way to meet more staff across school, especially for our new families.

Next week we have our open classrooms after school on Wednesday where you will have the chance to pop in, meet your child’s teacher for a chat and see their classrooms.

Don’t forget to book your place for the event of the year – the Community Quiz on Friday 9th October! Come and see me on the road if you have any ideas for special rounds or even the theme for the famous drawing round. It’s a whole lot of fun; prizes to be won…

If we don’t see you tomorrow, have a lovely weekend!

Comic Carts are rolled out!

Our children enjoy reading graphic novels and so we’ve created two more Comic Carts for school!  This means that each class in Year 3 & 4 now have their own cart full of comics and graphic novels.

Thank you to our Librarians for getting these carts and new books ready for action and delivering the surprise gift to the classrooms!

Safety Week

As part of Safety Week, Year 1 were lucky to welcome firefighter Steve to school. The children enjoyed learning all about water safety and hearing about the important role that firefighters play in helping to keep our communities safe.

Throughout the week, children across the whole school took part in a range of important safety activities. They learned how to stay safe in different situations, including fire, roads, railways, water, strangers, and online, helping them to develop the knowledge and confidence to make safe choices every day.

Year 4 Playground Friends

Year 4 have one of our most important Pupil Jobs, they are our Playground Friends!  Wearing the uniform with pride they support the younger children on the Key Stage 1 playground by playing games, reading stories, helping children find friends and solving any worries or problems.

Year 4 have made a great start to their new position of responsibility, bringing kindness and co-operation to the playground and being super role models.
