Headteacher Message
Dear Parents & Carers,
What a good week it has been in school! Our children have worked hard, been wonderfully kind to one another, and embraced every opportunity with smiles and resilience. A particular highlight was hearing our choir sing so beautifully both in school and at Hickory’s; they represented us with such joy, and we are very proud of them. Thank you to Mrs Porrett for guiding them, and to families who came along to listen and encourage.
An extra THANK YOU to the team at Hickory’s for welcoming our singers and creating such a warm, festive atmosphere. Moments like these remind us what partnership between school, families and local businesses can achieve; they give our children the confidence to perform and to shine.
I also want to recognise the amazing efforts of Miss Lewis for organising our Rudolph Run on Wednesday. Thanks to her hard work and the enthusiasm of our pupils, we have raised £711 for Severn Hospice. Severn Hospice provides care across our county, and the compassion shown by their teams is inspiring; every pound raised helps fund nurses, family support, and vital equipment. A huge well done and thank you to everyone who took part.
A special mention must go to Mrs Stewart for her fantastic Zumba skills! She got the whole school jumping and dancing on the playground!
Looking ahead, I am very much looking forward to our two nativities next week – always a magical moment in the school year (the TRUE start of Christmas!) and I hope to see you all there. Holy Trinity Church very kindly does not charge us for the use of the building, but would appreciate donations on the day towards the heating; last year, keeping the church warm for the week cost over £1,200. If you are able to contribute, it would be gratefully received. Please wrap up warmly, arrive in good time, and be mindful of prams and buggies inside the aisles so that everyone can see and enjoy the performances.
Finally, some polite reminders for the end of the school day. Please help to encourage your children to not get out equipment; throw or kick balls around the playgrounds; or ride scooters/bikes on the playgrounds. There have been a number of parents and young children unexpectedly hit by stray balls in the past few weeks and we want to keep the school site safe for all. In addition, please remember that the staff car park cannot be used for drop off and pick up. Thank you for your continued cooperation.
Have a restful weekend!

What a FUN day we’ve had! All 470 of us came together, antlers on and spirits high, to have fun while raising money for the amazing Severn Hospice. ❤️🦌
Incorporating a few of our favourite things singing, fitness and being kind!
Our organisers, Miss Lewis and Mr Hughes, had a fantastic line-up planned:
🎤 Whole-school assembly featuring Rudolph himself – Thanks to Nikki for talking to us about the special work of Severn Hospice!
💃 Zumba dance-up with Mrs Stewart and Rudolf– festive moves to get everyone ready to run!
🏃♂️ 30-minute Rudolph Run for each year group – so much enthusiasm and energy!
🏃♀️ Whole-school Rudolph Run – 470 runners all moving together for a brilliant cause!
🎶 Whole-school song for parents – finale to the day
🎨 House Antler Design Competition – creativity and colour everywhere!
Together, we ran an incredible 1,600 miles – that’s the distance from the Arctic Circle all the way to the North Pole! 🌍❄️🎅
Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we’ve already raised over £750 for Severn Hospice. We were delighted to welcome Nikki from Severn Hospice and of course Rudolph, who cheered us on throughout the day. 💛
A huge thank you to our pupils, staff, families, and supporters. What a joyful, active, meaningful way to celebrate the season! 🎄✨🧡
Pupils speak to Shropshire Live about the day

Coleham voices lead the Carol Singing 🎶✨
What a wonderful afternoon! Coleham Voices led our staff and families in a festive sing-along after school. Thank you to everyone who came and filled the room with holiday cheer! 🎄❤️
Coleham Voices delight diners @ Hickory’s Smokehouse
Our Year 3/4 children in Coleham Voices Choir lit up Hickory’s Smokehouse Restaurant last night! 🎤🔥
Under the direction of our fab Music Teacher Mrs Porrett, the kids brought the festive vibes with a set of Christmas tunes that had Tuesday-night diners smiling and soaking up the atmosphere. They absolutely smashed it.
Massive shout-out to all the proud parents who packed the bar and brought the energy to support.
What a way to enjoy the festive season. Coleham Voices, you rocked it! 🎄✨

Another Football Success!
We played our final match of the group-stage tournament for the County Plate and faced Baschurch at home in truly horrific weather conditions. The pitch was a wet, muddy bath, but the boys didn’t let this affect their performance. They showed great determination and teamwork throughout, finishing with a fantastic 3–0 win.
Well done, boys! A great effort all round.

Year 6 shine at Indoor Cricket Tournament
A group of Year 6 students were selected to take part in an indoor cricket event as part of the School Games competition. They performed incredibly throughout the day, winning all of their group-stage matches and securing a place in the semifinals. Although they played brilliantly, they narrowly missed out on a spot in the final by just a few runs.
In the playoff for 3rd and 4th place, they once again showed great determination, losing by only two runs. Despite these close results, the team finished the event feeling very happy with their 4th-place position – and rightly so!
There were countless fantastic catches, powerful hits, and moments of excellent teamwork. The whole team should be extremely proud of placing 4th in a tournament that involved 12 schools.
Well done to all involved!

Year 6 Trip to Liverpool war bunkers
Year 6 travelled to Liverpool as part of our WW2 history topic to visit Western Approaches Museum, which is a former WW2 bunker, where undercover missions were organised. The children saw the equipment code breakers would use and got to explore a street from WW2. They also learnt about rationing, different areas of the military and how Liverpool was impacted by The Blitz.
We then explored Liverpool Docks, which was a target for bombs during WW2 and had a quick look around the Museum of Liverpool. A great day was had by all!

Parents help us sew
🌟 A Huge Thank You to Our Year 4 Parents and Grandparents! 🌟
We want to express our gratitude to all the wonderful Year 4 parents who joined us for our Design & Technology sewing session. Your time, patience, and encouragement made such a difference!
The children were absolutely delighted to have you there, and they worked so proudly on their Roman coin purses, showing off their stitching skills with confidence and excitement.
