Headteacher Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a busy and brilliant week it’s been! Our Year 2 children had a fantastic trip to Wood Lane, where they explored how recycling works and why small everyday choices (like sorting our rubbish) to make a big difference to the planet. The Shropshire Wildlife Trust staff at the centre were impressed by the children’s curiosity and thoughtful questions, and the class returned full of excitement!

Meanwhile, Year 4 welcomed a team from Severn Trent Water, who led an engaging workshop on water conservation and keeping our sewers healthy. From learning where our water comes from to understanding what not to flush, pupils came away with practical tips they can use at home and in school.

A huge well done to our U10 girls’ football squad, who showed exemplary sporting attitudes in their fixtures this week. Their teamwork, resilience, and encouragement of one another were outstanding: true role models for peers across the school. We’re proud of every player who pulled on the shirt and gave their best.

We also enjoyed a visit from The Animal Family, who introduced us to a range of exotic animals in a wonderful educational session. Pupils were captivated as they learned about habitats, adaptations, responsible care and even faced up to some fears.

As always, thank you for your continuing support, whether that’s helping with reading at home, volunteering on trips, cheering from the touchline, or simply ensuring pupils arrive ready to learn each day. Our partnership with families is what makes our community so special.

Wishing you all a restful, happy weekend. We look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday, refreshed and ready for another week of learning and discovery.

Warm regards,

Tom Larkham
