A huge thank you as always to the wonderful Ali at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery for helping introduce out first history topic of the year – the Ancient Greeks – with an immersive in school workshop.
We looked at different artefacts, learnt all about the origins of the Olympic Games, and decided which of the city states we’d have preferred to have lived in.
We spent the rest of our day researching what Greek hoplites from the different city states would have looked like and what they would have worn, recreating them as huge pieces of artwork.
