Headteacher Message

Dear Families,
Welcome back to the final half-term of the year! This week has been as busy as ever… I had the absolute pleasure to join Year 6 on their residential to Pioneer for the first 3 days of this week and what an incredible experience for everyone it was! The children had a great time; the staff had a great time and the activities were amazing. I have NEVER been on a residential trip that ran so smoothly with children that were so resilient; so brave; so supportive of each other; so sensible and so quick to get to sleep! No one needed speaking with about anything silly – what a brilliant three days! They can be very proud of how they have represented themselves, their school and their families!
The Belle Vue Arts Festival is in full swing and it’s been wonderful to see our children contributing the brilliant art on the shop windows around Coleham: go and take a look! We’ll be going to see the various exhibitions soon with all the children too.
We’ve also had some theatre trips this week to see the Enormous Crocodile; designed sandwiches with ASDA; shared lunch with our Year 2 families; and had a great afternoon in Year 1 talking about the past with family members. Thank you to everyone who came in to share their stories with the children: being part of their learning is so important and is much appreciated.
Have a lovely weekend, everyone!

Step into a world of magic as storyteller Danielle Free tells the story of ‘Prince Loaf’ – a tale full of giants, magic, kings and princesses, and a magical loaf of bread!
Once the tale has worked its spell, children get to create their very own story map complete with a treasure‑trail of characters, paths and magical places, wherever their imagination takes them.
This relaxed, friendly session is ideal for younger children and their grown‑ups, offering a lovely blend of listening, imagining and creating together.
This event is FREE but spaces are limited, so you will still need to book here. (Parents and carers do not need to book).
New Faces
Welcome to Mrs Jones our new Administrator and Mr Nudds our new Caretaker!
They started their Coleham journey with us this week and they seem to be enjoying it so far! They are looking forward to meeting you.
Say hello when you see them!
Art in the Community
You may have seen lots of window art popping up for the Belle Vue Arts Festival cheering everyone who walks past.
Esme has decorated benches on Upper Road to jolly up the pavements.
Look out for Connie’s butterflies, Fern’s flowers, Laurie’s toadstools and Autumn’s fairies brought together in a display of fairytale fantasy at The Allotment in Coleham.
Year 3 Get Creative with Sandwich Design! 🥪✨
Year 3 have been busy, budding chefs and designers in their latest Design & Technology project! The children have been designing their very own sandwich flavours, thinking carefully about combinations of fillings, textures, and tastes.
Year 6 Attend Crucial Crew 🚨
Year 6 had a fantastic opportunity to take part in Crucial Crew, where they learned essential life skills to help keep themselves safe. The children explored important topics such as online safety, stranger awareness, and the dangers of drugs, alongside wider safety issues including water, fire, and road safety.
They were taught by experienced professionals, including the Police and Fire Service, making the day both engaging and memorable. Well done, Year 6, for your excellent participation and maturity! 🌟
Year 1 & 2 Enjoy a Trip to the Theatre! 🎭📚
Year 1 and Year 2 had a wonderful trip to Theatre Severn to watch The Enormous Crocodile by Roald Dahl.
The children were captivated from start to finish, joining in with the fun and excitement as the mischievous crocodile’s story unfolded on stage.
This trip was a brilliant way to inspire a love of reading while also giving pupils the chance to experience live musical theatre.
Well done to all our brilliant pupils for representing the school so beautifully🌟
Family History Afternoon
Year 1 recently brought history to life by welcoming parents and grandparents into school for a very special afternoon. As part of their learning about history within living memory, the children have been exploring what it was like to be six years old in the past.
Our visitors kindly shared their memories, answering the children’s thoughtful questions about school, toys, games, and daily life when they were young. The hall was filled with a warm and lively atmosphere as stories were exchanged and comparisons made between then and now.
It was particularly exciting to see the artefacts that families brought in, including old photographs, toys, and books. These helped the children to truly connect with the past and deepen their understanding.
A huge thank you to all the parents and grandparents who joined us—your stories made this experience unforgettable for our budding historians!
Yr 2 Parent Lunch
So lovely to see all our Year 2 families for lunch this week! Thank you for coming!
