Headteacher Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to the spring term! I hope you all had a restful break and are as excited as we are to dive into another term filled with learning and growth. The lovely weather we’ve had certainly feels more like spring, and is giving everyone a welcome boost to their spirits.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to meet with their children’s teachers this week: it’s always a pleasure to be able to share your children’s achievements with you, and your involvement is greatly appreciated. These meetings are invaluable in helping us understand how we can best support your child’s educational journey.
It’s been a busy week already, with everyone ready to get stuck into another jam-packed term. The enthusiasm and energy from everyone has been fantastic, and we are all looking forward to the exciting events and activities planned for the coming weeks.
Next week, we have World Book Week, which promises to be a highlight of the term. There are plenty of exciting activities planned, including a non-uniform day on Thursday. I look forward to seeing all the creative costumes, but please feel free to take it easy and just come in something comfortable if you prefer. The most important thing is that everyone enjoys the day and participates in the fun.
Enjoy your weekends!
Best regards,
Tom Larkham

Flaxmill Maltings Collaborative Art Project
Year 3 had a fun-filled visit from storyteller Jake Evans and his artist mum Sarah Evans. We heard wild tales of mountains, thunderstorms, clouds and bird kings followed by a creative drawing workshop. Our drawings will contribute towards a collaborative local area project to go on display at the Flaxmill Maltings. We can’t wait to see our work featured in the huge outdoor mural that also includes work created by many other artists and children from around Shropshire. How exciting!
Gardening Club set to work
Year 4 Gardening Club set to work this week with Kaspar from The Street Allotment Project.
What the Street Allotment Team don’t know about growing vegetables isn’t worth knowing, they are true community heroes tending to community veg plots all over town growing free food for everyone.
They will be teaching the children all about sustainability and growing food organically.
We have 3 more spaces available on this club if anyone else wants to join.
A Harpist visits Music Club
Celtic Saints Music Club started this week with a visit from local harpist Gill Madley. The children learnt about St David’s Day and sang a Welsh lullaby ‘Heno, Heno’ with lots of triangles. They all enjoyed having a go on the triple harp and making paper leeks with St David’s last words: “Be joyful, keep the faith, do the little things in life”. Well done everyone!

Year 2 Football Team Triumphs
A very big well done to some of our Year 2 children, who took part in an exciting football competition this afternoon. The boys played exceptionally well, demonstrating fantastic teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship throughout the event.
Their hard work and determination paid off as they proudly walked away with the 1st place trophy! The boys were absolutely thrilled with their victory, and it was such a wonderful experience for them.
Well done, boys! We are so incredibly proud of you all. Keep up the amazing work!

Swimming Gala
A huge congratulations to all the children who participated in this week’s swimming gala! They were an absolute joy to accompany and represented Coleham in the best way possible. The team spirit on display was fantastic, with everyone cheering each other on and showing great support throughout the event.
We came away with a handful of 1st, 2nd, and 4th place finishes, but our lucky number turned out to be 3, as we secured 3rd place in most of our races and even placed 3rd overall!
Well done to all the swimmers from Coleham – I was incredibly impressed with your competitive swimming abilities!
