How can you help our school community?
Engagement – Talk to us. Let us know if staff have done a good job; tell us what areas we can improve upon; provide us with useful feedback for surveys; let us help if you have a concern. Find us on the playground each morning and evening, we much prefer to talk to you face to face than pick up emails.
Community events – If you value something, get involved! We lead all our community events so they can be seamlessly integrated to our school values & curriculum. But we love your help! Join our Parents Event Team meeting to plan events; we hold 1 planning meeting for each event so people can dip in and out with no ongoing commitments-everyone has busy lives, we get it, so we keep things simple; support our events by manning stalls; donating goods; showcasing your talents; socialising; spreading the word – everybody is welcome! All our events are about us coming together, enjoying each other’s company and making memories. The fundraising helps, but that’s an added bonus!
Community Allotment Project-Love the outdoors? Help out at our Community Allotment mornings. The Street Allotment Project are running volunteer sessions working on our school allotment. Anybody can join in and enjoy planting and clearing with a great team of people.
Support our curriculum – Come and talk to pupils about your career, specialist job, skill or hobby. Or perhaps you have links with a venue that may make a good place for the children to visit. Do you have connections with organisations that can help our causes e.g. environment or supporting the local community? Do you have any talents or links for extra-curricular clubs?
Support our Eco council – If any parents feel that they have contacts with suitable ‘eco’ schemes, or indeed work within any charities or companies, please do not hesitate to contact the school as we welcome the support and ideas of volunteers to help with our pledge!
