Exciting RE news! Years 1, 4 and 6 will each be taking part in an African Drumming workshop on Thursday 8^th October. This will be a fun way of linking their knowledge and developing an understanding about different global cultural practises and traditions. This is an important part of their overall RE learning journey. The workshop will also make a nice cross-curricular link to the Black History month which beings on 1st October.

RSHE Information Event – An opportunity for families to learn more about our RSHE curriculum.

Year 5 & 6 have Author Tia Fisher visiting to chat about her new WW2 novel.

Back cover blurb: It’s 1944 and Stan’s father has signed up to fight, leaving Stan and his mother in Croydon to suffer under waves of V1 rockets.  When word comes that his father is missing, presumed killed, Stan refuses to accept it.  When a piece of doodlebug shrapnel is found, that carries information from a prisoner of war, Stan and his friends run away, determined to follow the lead.

The visit will tie in beautifully with Year 6’s history topic on World War 2 and the lead up to Remembrance Day.
