International Day was celebrated earlier this month at Coleham Primary School and, on that day, there was a real buzz about the school. The day started as our pupils streamed into school wearing a multitude of colourful costumes to represent the colours of the flag of an international country. For assembly, the juniors got the chance to showcase some of the French songs, role plays and language that they have been learning. Seth, Jake and Lydia had the audience in stitches as they acted out a play about the importance of learning a foreign language.
At lunchtime, the kitchen staff had organised a tasty international meal for us and all afternoon we tasted different dishes from all around the world provided by Coleham parents. The Juniors had Spanish lessons in the afternoon in their usual French slot - it was very exciting.
All in all the day was very enjoyable. Our thanks go to all the pupils and parents (and extended families) who went to so much trouble to make the day special.
