As part of our topic “Animals including Humans – Nutrition and Digestion”, we have arranged for Year 4 to visit Chester Zoo on Monday 8th January. Whilst there, groups of 20 will take part in a workshop on that topic.
The children will be travelling by coach supplied by Longmynd Travel Ltd. The cost of the trip is £8.00, which includes the cost of transport, insurance and the three workshops (there are no entry charges for this trip as the teachers have made use of a very generous “Free visit for Schools Special Offer” by Chester Zoo). Although costs for trips are voluntary, in reality the school has no other means of funding these trips. If there is insufficient funding, the trip will sadly, not proceed.
We will be leaving school at 9.15am and hope to arrive back at approximately 4:45pm to 5.00pm (traffic permitting). If we expect to arrive back significantly later, we will send you a text message (NB: text messages can only be sent to those parents on ParentPay who have entered their mobile phone numbers to their account).
Your child will need to bring a packed lunch and a drink – no glass bottles or fizzy drinks please. Those pupils entitled to free school meals will be given a packed lunch by Shire Services before departure.
Please also ensure that they wear school uniform and bring along a coat – at this time of year they may well need it! As the day will be packed with activities there will be no time to visit the shop - children should, therefore, not require any spending money.
Please complete and sign the Parent Consent Form and return it, together with your contribution (if not paid via ParentPay) and the payment slip overleaf, to your child’s class teacher as soon as possible. Unfortunately, if the Parent Consent Form is not returned your child will not be able to participate in this visit.
