Residential trip to Condover Hall - Year 4

Dear Parent/Guardian,

 YEAR 4 RESIDENTIAL TRIP TO CONDOVER HALL: 8th - 9th MARCH 2018

At Coleham we are always looking for ways that we can make children’s education more exciting and interesting and also to provide a broad range of experiences for our children.  We have run a residential trip for year 4 pupils for a number of years now and it has always proved to be very successful.

The positive effect that a residential visit has on children is huge – children become more confident and independent; develop stronger, more cooperative and understanding relationships with their peers; and they learn to organise themselves away from home. Such a visit was in fact recommended to us by OFSTED, during a previous inspection, as a way of enhancing the children’s experiences and curriculum.

The visit will take place on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th March 2018, with children staying overnight on Thursday and returning to school on Friday evening, around 5.30pm. Whilst at Condover Hall they will take part in a variety of team-building, problem-solving, outdoor and adventurous activities.

The cost of the trip for one night will be £85.00, and includes transport (provided by Boulton’s Coaches), insurance, accommodation, food and all activities.  If you would like your child to attend this trip we require a deposit of £35.00, paid either by ParentPay or by cash/cheque (cheques made payable to Coleham Primary School), together with a completed confirmation slip by no later than Friday 13th October.

A final, payment of £50.00 will be required by Friday 15th December (all monies must be paid to Condover Hall no later than 10 weeks before departure date).

If your child is currently in receipt of Free School Meals we can pay for the trip out of the funding we receive on their behalf. A separate letter will be sent to those eligible for this funding very shortly. If you believe you are eligible for this funding but do not receive a letter from us please come and see me and I will look into this for you.

If your child is not eligible for funding but you are currently experiencing financial difficulties, please come and see either Ms Jones or myself - we may be able to make alternative arrangements regarding payment.

A meeting has been arranged for 5.00pm on Thursday 5th October in 4X’s classroom where you will be given further details about the trip and answers to any questions you may have. We hope to see you there.

 Yours sincerely,

 Jane Hilbert
