Harvest Festival

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Friday, we will be celebrating our Harvest Festival in school.  Once again, we are going to be collecting food and provisions for the Shrewsbury Ark, which is a drop in centre for homeless and vulnerable people.  We are delighted to be welcoming the manager of the Ark into school to talk to the children about the importance of the work done at the Ark.

All donations will be gratefully received, but in particular, the Ark would welcome the following food items:



Coffee, sugar, squash, Juice


Tinned and Cup-a-soups

Dry foods

Instant noodles, pot noodles, instant rice meals

Tinned Meat, etc

Ham, corned beef, tuna, sardines etc

Tinned Vegetables

Including baked beans, sweetcorn, peas

Tinned meals

e.g. Curries, stews, steak and kidney, chilli, meatballs, mince, hot dog sausages, tinned pies


All cereals but only instant type porridge


Crisps, tinned fruit, biscuits, chocolate, cake


Jam, ketchup, brown sauce, mayonnaise, peanut butter, chocolate spread, marmite.


The Ark would also gratefully receive non-food items such as: men's shampoo, shower gel and deodorant, dog food, dog leads & muzzles, washing powder & washing up liquid, toilet rolls.  Please send your child into school, as normal, with their donation, which they can bring down to the reception area of school, where we will display all of the donations.
