Dear Parents and Carers,
The school Breakfast Club began in 2013 at an introductory price of £3 and the After School Club started in September 2015 at an introductory price of £8. Over the last 3-5 years these prices have remained static and there has been no price increase. The school has been able to absorb the increase in wages, pension and national insurance costs and rising food costs.
However, we have reached the point where an increase to these clubs is required to cover some of these additional costs incurred and for the year ahead. As you may be aware, schools are facing budget pressures due to minimal increases to per pupil funding which does not cover the rising wage bill each year. Our support staff wages increase was between 2-9% for 2018-19 alone.
Therefore, the cost of breakfast Club from Tuesday 4th September will now be £3.25 and the cost of After School Club will now be £8.75. All of this income will be re-invested to the school budget. We believe that this is still good value for the childcare provided. I hope that you are able to continue to benefit from these clubs and can support us in this decision.
